Alcohol & Drug Assessment At Spring Hill
A substance use assessment will help ensure a successful pathway to recovery by providing your care team with critical information, including your comprehensive treatment needs, care preferences, and recovery goals.
Shortly after arriving at Spring Hill and getting settled in, you will receive a professional assessment for beginning or continuing treatment. The purpose of the assessment is to help your care team learn about your full range of treatment needs and personal recovery goals. With this knowledge, we work with you to put together a treatment plan for addressing these needs and goals for a successful recovery.
Elements Of The Assessment
Your assessment will take place as a conversation between you and one of our clinicians here at Spring Hill. The information gathered will help us determine the best path forward for your care, including recommended treatment approaches and support options, which vary based on individual needs, preferences, and goals.
Biopsychosocial Assessment
A biopsychosocial assessment will help reveal the biological, psychological, and social factors affecting your behavioral health. This includes information about your diet, family history, sleep habits, any prescription medications or supplements you’re taking, and more. It also includes questions about how you’re feeling and what you’re thinking so that your care team can get to know you better and meet you where you are in order to provide the best care.
Safety Assessment
We also provide safety assessments at this time to help ensure that you are not at risk of hurting yourself or others. This may include the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (CSSRS), if appropriate.
Treatment Plan Development
Having gotten to know you and your needs better, the clinician will discuss treatment approaches and support options recommended for your long-term recovery. We offer a broad range of proven-effective treatments and case management services to meet a broad range of recovery needs. These include but aren’t limited to motivational interviewing (MI) and other evidence-based therapies, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), dual diagnosis care, legal assistance, STD assistance, and much more. Your personalized treatment plan will address your individual needs and goals and may be reviewed as you progress through treatment if other care and support needs are identified.
Assignment Of Primary Clinician
Your assessment is also when you will be assigned your primary clinician here at Spring Hill. This is the specialist you will meet with for one-on-one therapy sessions, which may include discussions about family relationships, your support system, coping skills, triggers, relapse prevention, harm reduction, and more to help you build a solid foundation in recovery. Your primary clinician may also be involved in your aftercare planning, ensuring you have the appropriate support and next steps in place before leaving Spring Hill.
