Union Members’ Program At Spring Hill
Our comprehensive addiction recovery program makes it easier for union members with substance use disorders to get the treatment and support they need while keeping their jobs.
Addiction is disruptive to all areas of life, and working professionals sometimes put off seeking treatment due to concerns that stepping away from work for a period will only further rock the boat. However, being in recovery can help save your job, your health, and vastly improve your overall well-being in the long term.
At Spring Hill Recovery Center, our multidisciplinary team can help workers obtain all the tools required to begin and live a life in recovery, while using the resources at their disposal in order to put their health and wellness first.
If you belong to a union, you may have additional support to make recovery a reality for yourself or a family member. We partner with unions to help connect employees and their families with evidence-based addiction care and get on the path to a healthy life.
Key Facets Of The Program
Our addiction treatment program for union members has been developed with working professionals’ treatment needs, concerns, and goals in mind. Specialized programs such as this are proven to aid in long-term recovery, bringing together people with shared experiences and similar backgrounds to learn from, inspire, and support each other.
At the same time, personalized care is also key to lasting recovery. No two people experience addiction in exactly the same way, and no two people recover from it in the same way either. Our program meets you where you are in your journey and provides a wide range of recovery tools in support of your success.
Assessment And Evaluation
Shortly after your arrival at Spring Hill, your care team will work with you to develop your personalized treatment plan through an initial biopsychosocial assessment, safety assessment, and discussions with you about your personal recovery goals and treatment option preferences.
If you are experiencing withdrawal symptoms, treatment may need to begin with medical detox for your safety. While Spring Hill does not offer onsite detox, we will refer you out to one of our nearby partner facilities. After you complete detox, we will arranged for your transport back to Spring Hill to begin residential treatment. As you progress through residential treatment, your care team will continually reevaluate your situation to make sure that treatment goals are being met, making adjustments as needed.
A Comprehensive, Multidisciplinary Approach
You will have access to a broad range of addiction specialists while at Spring Hill, including master’s-level counselors and therapists, a medical team consisting of nurse practitioners and other health professionals, case managers, and behavioral health technicians.
Highly qualified counselors and therapists help you get at the roots of your addiction, while peer support groups provide a chance to share challenges and successes and build connections. Our whole-person approach also includes chef-prepared meals, access to a fully equipped fitness center, and a variety of recreation activities, including Friday night bonfires.
Case Management
You will be provided with a case manager who is familiar with employees’ work-related needs and other concerns during treatment. Your case manager can help you access, complete, and submit any necessary paperwork that has yet to be submitted, such as Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) documents, as well as provide assistance with legal issues or day-to-day activities like paying bills.
Evidence-Based Therapy
Treatment at Spring Hill revolves around evidence-based therapies in both individual and group settings. These therapies are proven to help people recover from substance use disorders.
Evidence-based therapy options at Spring Hill include:
- dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
- cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- motivational interviewing
- community reinforcement approach (CRA)
- family psychoeducation (FPE)
- family therapy
Other evidence-based treatments available include medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for clients with opioid or alcohol use disorders.
In addition, peer support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), SMART Recovery, and more help you connect with peers and build social support.
IDDT Model
Mental health issues such as depression, anxiety disorders, trauma disorders, and more often co-occur with addiction. Our program provides diagnosis of dual disorders and an integrated dual disorder treatment (IDDT) model for recovery. By treating both substance use and mental health disorders at the same time, we help our clients get to the roots of their behavioral health issues and manage their symptoms in a sustainable way. For working professionals in particular, this may include stress management education, peer support, and assistance in developing healthy coping skills and daily routines.
Retreat Setting
Surrounded by mountains, forests, and open fields, our recovery retreat offers an ideal setting for healing your mind, body, and spirit. When not participating in formal treatment, you will have time to enjoy our lushly forested campus, which includes walking paths, an outdoor obstacle course, a gazebo, a basketball court, picnic tables for cookouts, outdoor games like corn hole and Frisbee toss, and more. Gender-separate suites provide a cozy, comfortable space to retreat to, and freshly prepared meals by our onsite chef consider your nutrition needs and any allergy restrictions.
Aftercare Support
Aftercare planning at Spring Hill will help you transition smoothly and seamlessly from our retreat setting back into your daily life. One popular option is joining our alumni program, which helps clients keep in touch with their care team and peers in recovery. Alumni are invited to participate in virtual and in-person groups, sober outings, holiday events, and more.
