PHCS Alcohol And Drug Rehab Insurance Coverage

PHCS is an affiliate of Multiplan, which operates a network of treatment facilities that your health plan may use to give you a wider choice of providers when you’re seeking care. PHCS allows medical providers and rehab facilities to offer discounted rates to those using health insurance through the PHCS network.

PHCS and MultiPlan are not health plans, as they are not insurance carriers. They cannot assist you when you look into seeking treatment for drug or alcohol addiction if you have benefits or eligibility questions. Instead, you will need to speak with your insurance company, health plan administrator, or human resources representative.

PHCS’s preferred providers are accessed through your health insurance plan, but the network doesn’t maintain information about your copays, deductibles, or premiums. You can use the providers in the network for treatment, but coverage will vary based on the insurance plan you chose or have available to you through your employer or the Healthcare Marketplace.

The Multiplan network is a nationwide complementary PPO network that is utilized by many health plans to give patients additional choices of treatment providers who will provide discounts for their addiction services.

Spring Hill Recovery is a part of this network, giving you the option to seek treatment through inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, residential treatment, or other treatment methods within our treatment network.

PHCS Coverage For Massachusetts Drug And Alcohol Rehab

PHCS is not a health plan or insurance provider, so it doesn’t cover drug and alcohol treatment claims, administer benefits plans, or offer insurance.

If you have access to the PHCS network, you can ask your human resources officer, plan administrator, or a health care agent with your plan about the coverage you have and the rehab facilities and treatments that are covered.

At Spring Hill Recovery, our staff would be happy to go over your insurance plan to determine if you have coverage for the behavioral health treatments you are seeking through the PHCS network.

Using PHCS To Pay For Addiction Treatment

PHCS network providers are those who have agreed to charge less for their treatment services because of group enrollment through your employer.

When you seek substance abuse treatment or mental health treatment through PHCS, you may receive lower-cost care throughout the treatment process as a result.

PHCS doesn’t cover the cost of rehab treatment. Instead, you will need to speak with your insurance company to determine your current copays, deductibles, and your out-of-pocket maximum.

Do I Have To Stay In-Network To Use PHCS Insurance For Drug Rehab?

Since PHCS is an additional PPO network, the good thing is that you’ll have a number of excellent treatment options for seeking alcohol or drug addiction treatment programs.

PHCS has a number of treatment providers who have decided to work within the network, which helps you save money on the services that are recommended to you.

You may be asked to stay with the PHCS network for treatment, but most health insurance plans do allow out-of-network treatment. Keep in mind that out-of-network treatment is normally more expensive and receives less coverage.

Understanding Your Out-Of-Pocket Costs For Rehab

Your out-of-pocket costs for rehabilitation are based on your specific health care plan. Since PHCS is not a health care plan, you will need to talk to your health insurance provider or the facility of your choice to discuss the cost of treatment.

The total out-of-pocket costs you’ll face may depend on:

  • if you have hit your deductible this year
  • your individual copayments
  • costs not covered by your health insurance policy

How Do I Find A Massachusetts Rehab Center That Accepts PHCS?

At Spring Hill Recovery, our team would be happy to let you know if we are a part of the PHCS network. You can also use the “Find a Provider” tab on the MultiPlan insurance website to find our facility.

If there is a provider that you would like to have on the network but they aren’t listed, then you can nominate the provider. Additionally, on the website, you can search by medical specialty to find those who focus on rehabilitation and recovery from substance use disorders.

Does PHCS Cover Inpatient Rehab Programs?

While PHCS cannot cover the cost of inpatient treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or mental health disorders, the network may be able to refer you to treatment facilities that offer inpatient rehab programs. Also called residential treatment, this may be the most viable treatment option for those with severe drug or alcohol abuse issues.

Are Medical Detox Programs Covered By PHCS?

PHCS does not pay for medical detox. However, as a network of providers, it can help you find a provider to help with detoxification. You should check with your traditional insurance plan to see what kind of coverage you have for drug and alcohol detox.

Does PHCS Cover Outpatient Treatment For Substance Abuse?

PHCS may be able to connect you with treatment centers that offer outpatient treatment, but it is not a health insurance policy. It does not cover the cost of outpatient programs.

Is Partial Hospitalization Covered Through PHCS?

Partial hospitalization may be provided by the medical providers who partner with PHCS, but again, the MultiPlan and PHCS network does not provide health insurance coverage.

Is Massachusetts Intensive Outpatient Treatment Covered Through PHCS?

MultiPlan and PHCS do have providers who offer intensive outpatient treatment. PHCS is a network, not an insurance company, so coverage depends on the insurance plan you currently have.

Does PHCS Cover Sober Living?

Sober living support is available through the providers on the PHCS network, but PHCS does not provide insurance coverage for those services.

Does PHCS Cover Medication-Assisted Treatment?

Medication-assisted treatment may be provided by the drug rehab centers on the PHCS network. Check with your insurance policy to see the cost of those services for you.

Are Methadone Costs Covered By PHCS?

Methadone may be covered on your traditional prescription plan through your health insurance plan. PHCS members may be on the network and be able to offer reduced rates for methadone maintenance therapy.

Will PHCS Cover Suboxone Therapy?

Suboxone therapy may help you overcome withdrawal over time, which can be essential for healing from substance use disorders. PHCS providers may be able to offer reduced Suboxone therapy rates. Speak with your insurance provider to see the out-of-pocket costs you can expect.

Verifying Your Massachusetts PHCS Coverage

PHCS is not an insurance plan, so you won’t need to verify its coverage. However, you can talk to our team at Spring Hill Recovery to make sure that we are on the plan and covered by your health insurance plan, whether it’s through a spouse, your employer, or elsewhere.
